Relegation Troubles ??
The idea of RELEGATION has been introduced to the League at long last. FFL Meeting 10th Oct'98 (Pub Working Group) and ratified at Full FFL meeting on 19th December '98
This will ensure two things
- Those teams near the bottom of the league will have some exitement and something to work for as the season draws to a close.
- New managers on the waiting list will have the chance of joining the league.
Finishing in 12th place will not necessarily mean "automatic" dismissal.
The Manager who finds him/herself in this tricky predicament at the end of the season has two relegation options
- To attend the opening meeting of the next season where ALL team assets will be sold back to the pool at full price. (LTG's cannot be sold back to the pool for full price, but remain with the manager to be incorporated or kept in the usual manner.)
They will then have to bid, along with the rest, to aquire a full team that will have a better chance of survival than the crap that they have just sold- Resign gracefully
In either of the two scenarios above the team will need a name change, as though the manager may be the same - the team has been relegated.
If the second option is realised then a new manager will be able to take over the team at the beginning of the new season.
They will not be required to sell the whole team to the pool as an incumbent manager must.
They will be given every chance to improve their team immediately by having (a) the right to sell any players, at the beginning of the meeting, at full price (b) being given a free transfer of any player from "the pool", this free will include all pre season imports.Concession: This "free transfer" has also been allocated to an incumbent manager
(FFL meeting 19th December '98) any player from the pool including one of the managers previous players sold at the beginning of the meeting. If a Manager finishes bottom two years in succession then they will definitely receive the sack. Releasing his/her place to a prospective manager from the waiting list.
