It really is a simple as that! though the following amendments have been made over time

Amendments
finely honing the ffl points system

• 17th September 1994 - Defenders recieve ¼ point assist
• 13th November 1999 - defenders score two more points for a goal from open play
• 13th november 1999 - attakers lose spurious ¼ point for clean sheet
• 13th november 1999 - penalties will score 3 points and 4 points (home/away) across all positions
• 16th december 2000 - win and loss points removed from ffl points system to negate the well known 'Nicky Butt' effect
• 9th january 2002 - clean sheet points increased to benifit teams with full defence. First goal conceded costs greatly followed by normal points reduction therafter for goals conceded
• 9th january 2002 - 'clean sheet' points renamed 'boots on' points - these are recieved if your player takes the field
